Observations of the human form continue to inspire my work, they abstract, distort and manipulate these subjects, forming new environments for the elements of the figure to be viewed within. Physicality is persistent in our surroundings and often emerges through 'absence' and 'memory', as with 'Eastern Gateway' and Jaipur to Bhagsu', part of a series of drawings and paintings inspired by my journeys through the Sub-Continent and South East Asia...... regardless, the body is ever present. Other themes explored include 'duality', which produced large scaled paintings of carved organic mass ('Degrees of Experience'), suggesting that these be viewed as blueprints of the human form and psyche.
